For my story I migrated at the end of 2020, that in itself was a very crazy thing to do especially during a pandemic but starting over from scratch was my choice to make. As my adaptation process moved along there also came the time for the great job hunt.

It wasn’t a smooth just apply process it was filled with rejection, non-advancements, no responses from recruiters after they said they would. It was the normal ride that the average person has to go through, frustrating, hopeful, slow, and fast all at the same time. …

Ok, Welcome to version 2 of the Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect prep sheet. This guide is made to be concise, it is not a dump, it is recommended that you know something about the Google Cloud platform. I recommend this after you have done your main study (course, book, labs, whatever you choose) and are at the point near the home stretch before going for your exam attempt.

This is based on the new version of the most popular Google Cloud certification of all and I can say is you all have some serious work to do. This exam…

Welcome back to part 2 of an eight-part break down of the CISSP domains for the 2021 syllabus. Part 1 focused on Domain 1: Security and Risk Management and that post can be found HERE. Now this part will focus on May 1st, 2021 updated, Domain 2: Asset Security topics.

Asset Security is the smallest domain at a total of 10%. While this is the case you still need to be able to score points in your exam based on this area. Now, let’s run through a few of the concepts.

Asset Classification — Identify and assigning a level of…

I usually write about cloud, code, and networking but we all can’t deny security exists everywhere. So I’ve decided to post a domain-specific review/break down of each CISSP domain. Now I’ve been a CISSP since 2017 and plan to do one of the concentrations sometime in the future.

I’ll base the domain review on the new outline effective May 1st, 2021 so it remains relevant for the future. In this review, I’ll be looking at Domain 1: Security and Risk Management.

Security and Risk Management is the largest domain at a total of 15%. That means you need to get…

I had to recertify my AWS DevOps professional certification. From the time I did it back in 2017, the current exam is a completely different thing. this exam focuses heavily on AWS DevOps tools, capabilities, and integrations. I wasn’t shocked but it was not exactly what I called easy.

Ok, you are really here for some tips so to be of more help check out the info below.

1# Know something about AWS. Know the foundations at least at the associate level don’t just rush past it. I think you need to know the platform at least at an associate…

I did this exam later in Dec 2020. This was my first time doing it and I must tell you it wasn’t what I call easy. When I complete my exam I had 8 questions marked for review, with the extra time I did a full review again, and low and behold I ended up with 25 questions I was unsure about. I know what you are thinking how does it go up, well that was how the cookie crumbled. The answers were close so it really came down to knowing your services in the situation. …

AWS Security Specialty

I sat this exam in mid-Feb 2021. This is one of my favourite exams. I had the pleasure of doing this exam three times in total. I did the Beta in 2018, I did the live version in 2018 and I did my recertification in Feb 2021.

To pass this exam these are a few tips.

1# Understand the platform at an associate level. Don’t skip the basics. If you are looking for a deep-dive course at the associate level this one stands out. https://learn.cantrill.io/

2# Understand the following
- IAM (everything)
- How permissions work default deny, explicit allow, explicit…

I recently had to recertify my AWS Solution Architect Professional exam. AWS is very nice in that they give you three years to recertify. Even though it’s three years preparing for recertification can be stressful. If you choose not to recertify I can understand but if you plan on keeping it well let just say on AWS a lot of things change fast.

My preparation for this exam was very very stressful mainly because I had done a series of exams in December 2020 and this was my first for 2021 so my brain needed a rest. This exam is…
